I don't want to mention Gary Newman's name but the team did question us about it on the Mac Illustrator forum. I think though he was clearly out numbered that his argument won out. Now I know that does not sound logical or useful, and you might not believe this but a very expert user of Illustrator that does work for newspapers and is extremely knowledgable about Illustrator use for publishing purposes put up a very good but illogical argument not to change this feature because it would waste resources that could be used for something else. Not exactly no problem…here is the problem in order to advance from one column to the next column in Illustrator you need to use the return key to advance down the column until that column is filled with text input or if you wish the space bar, you cannot use the enter key on the extended keyboard to advance to the next column>
