They aren't really collectible either way. Worn finishes on old guns can be kept stable and rust-free by normal firearm maintenance. If you take care of it, it will last forever as-is. If it's worn and patinaed, that's another. If it's rusty and pitted, that's one thing. Pretty tough to tell from your pics what it looks like. This has to be the worst area on the rifle.but I can remember alot of squirrel hunting with my grandfather and father using this rifle. Surprisingly the wood is excellent for it's age. Now my question is.should I take it to a gunsmith and have it reblued? Or should I leave it like I got it?
